Leading experts from academia and the pharmaceutical industry invite basic scientists, physicians, psychologists, and other health professionals to review and exchange ideas related to (i) research into pain and analgesia mechanisms in humans, (ii) diagnostic use in the clinic, (iii) development of objective markers of nociception and translational models of pain, (iv) target validation in humans, and (v) clinical trials of novel analgesics. We aim to provide a forum for interaction between academic and industry scientists interested in state-of-the-art tools for human pain and analgesia research, and their application to drug discovery and development of novel analgesics. This is done in the format of workshops that are organised bi-annually.
